What Is Android?

Android increasingly popular in the world and become a serious rival for the vendor's existing mobile phone such as Nokia, Blackberry and iPhone. But if you ask the people of Indonesia most of the "What is Android?" Most people will not know what it's Android, and although nobody knows for sure just for certain people who geek / update the technology. This is because the Indonesian recognizes only three brands of mobile phones is the Blackberry, Nokia, and other brands


There are several things that make it difficult Android (yet) received by the markets of Indonesia,
among others:
1. Most mobile phones using the Android touchscreen input is less popular in Indonesia,
2.Android requires a very fast internet connection to maximize the usefulness of the Internet service provider  when Indonesia was less reliable,
3.And the latter assumption that Android is difficult to operate / use when compared with other kinds of  Nokia mobile phone or Blackberry.

What is Android Android is an operating system that is used in smartphones and tablet PCs. Functions the same as in the Nokia Symbian operating system, IOS on Apple and the BlackBerry OS. Android is not tied to just one brand of mobile phones, some of which already have well-known vendors such as Samsung Android, Sony Ericsson, HTC, Nexus, Motorola, and others. Android was first developed by a company called Android Inc.., And in 2005 the acquisition by Internet giant Google. Android is made on the basis of a modified Linux kernel, and for each release its code-named by the name of the food dish. The main advantage of Android is free and open source, which makes Android smartphones sold cheaper than the Blackberry or iPhone even though the features (hardware) has to offer Android better. Some key features of Android include WiFi hotspot, Multi-touch, multitasking, GPS, accelerometers, support java, supports most networks (GSM / EDGE, iDEN, CDMA, EV-DO, UMTS, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, WiMAX & LTE ) as well as basic capabilities mobile phones in general. Eclair (2.0 / 2.1) 
Early version of Android that came into use by many smartphones, the main features of Eclair is the total change in the structure and appearance of the user interface and is the first version of Android that supports the HTML5 format.

Froyo / Frozen Yogurt (2.2) 
Android 2.2 was released with 20 new features, including the increase in speed, features Wi-Fi hotspot tethering and support for Adobe Flash. Honeycomb (3.0, 3.1 and 3.2)
 Android version is aimed at the gadget / device with a large screen like a Tablet PC; Honeycomb new feature is support for multicore processors and graphics with hardware acceleration. Taking the first tablet is a tablet Honeycomb Motorola Xoom released in February 2011.  Ice Cream Sandwich (4.0) 4.0
